Will Hackers Up Their Game? What You Can DoI don’t want to be alarmist and certainly don’t want you and your team to be overly panicked about news pouring out of Russia.

But these events cannot be brushed aside. The FBI and CISA released a joint statement over the weekend warning of global reaching cyberattacks.

Here is part of their warning:

"Destructive malware can present a direct threat to an organization's daily operations, impacting the availability of critical assets and data”

And here is a link to their warning: https://www.cisa.gov/uscert/ncas/alerts/aa22-057a

They also mention that overflow from Ukraine-directed attacks may spill over to other countries. My question to you: do you want those attacks impacting your and your clients’ operations?

The key is in your approach—the tactics you and your team take to make sure overspill or even direct attacks don’t target your users.

The Ukraine-based attacks are likely just the beginning and I want to make sure your team is prepared.

What does prepared mean?

Cyber stack has been evaluated? Do you have components in your stack to make sure you and your clients are secure? Let’s say a malicious email does make it through somehow… Is your stack able to prevent downstream issues? One of the easiest ways to evaluate your stack is through a free cyber stack evaluation.

Do you have an incident response that will address hacking? Have you recently tested your incident response plan? Do you have a plan you’re confident in? These are two big questions that will be very necessary as you prepare yourselves and your clients.

Are you communicating risk in the right way? I know chaos can be hard to deal with. And growing conflicts in areas of the world prone to cyberattack activity has historically gone rampant may seem hard to deal with, but one of the biggest ways your team can help protect your clients (and prospects) is by communicating your risks in a way that they understand.

I know these three tasks may seem hard to accomplish.

I want to tell you they don’t have to be.

Join me for a SPECIAL Security Operations (SecOps) conversation THIS Friday, March 4 at Noon Eastern to discuss critical tactics you can take immediately to lead your clients and teams through events like the one that’s happening right now. I will be going through ways you can tackle these questions in a way that is approachable to non-technical audiences.

We need to come together as a community right now to make sure we’re not the victims of growing international tensions.
