Introducing Cyber Liability Pathways

A simpler, more profitable way for MSPs to build and scale programs that measurably reduce cyber liability for themselves and their clients.

Galactic’s Cyber Liability Pathways are a structured progression designed to guide you and your clients from basic readiness to operational discipline and full regulatory alignment, without requiring program rebuilds as new clients or standards emerge.

Same platform. Clearer structure. Stronger outcomes you can explain, defend and scale.

A Clear Path, Not a Pile of Tasks

Cyber liability defense isn’t one document or one  set of controls. It’s a sequence of decisions, approvals, and evidence that builds over time.

When that sequence is unclear, programs sprawl, documentation drifts, and it becomes hard to prove what’s actually in place.

This new pathway structure gives you and your clients a clear, defensible progression; one foundation that grows as risk increases and requirements change, without starting over.

What’s New

We’ve simplified how cyber liability defense is built and delivered.

  • Get started with the Essentials Pathway (formerly Great Start)
  • Introduction of the Core Pathway
  • Launch of Advanced Pathways that build on Core, starting with:
    • HIPAA Pathway
    • FTC Safeguards Pathway

The 3 Steps to Cyber Liability Defense

Essentials Pathway

Where Defense Begins

The Essentials Pathway (formerly Great Start) establishes the incident response protocols and baseline governance that every organization needs. You’ll finish with documented  acceptable use policies, incident response plans, clearly assigned responsibilities, and evidence that the work was completed.

Why It Matters

When something goes wrong, this is what allows you to show the organization was prepared, decisions were made intentionally, and responsibilities were clear.

Available to all partners, plus clients enrolled in Cyber Liability Essentials or CyberWatch.

Core Pathway

Where Defense Becomes Operational

The Core Pathway is the backbone of an organization’s Cyber Liability Defense program. It guides a Compliance Champion through creating, tailoring, and formally approving the 11 policies and 14 procedures that define how security and privacy actually operate day to day.

Once Core is completed, alignment to specific standards or regulatory frameworks becomes a matter of refinement, not rebuilding.

Why It Matters

Defensible security programs are documented, approved, and consistently executed. The Core Pathway moves cyber risk management from intent to operation, producing the structure and evidence insurers, auditors, and customers expect to see.

Available to all partners, plus clients enrolled in CyberWatch.

Advanced Pathways

Where Defense Is Finalized

Advanced Pathways build on Core to address the remaining, framework-specific requirements needed for full regulatory alignment, without duplicating the entire governance stack.

Why It Matters

Specific standards introduce specific expectations. Advanced Pathways ensure those requirements are met cleanly, consistently, and with evidence that’s easy to produce when needed.

HIPAA Pathway

Addresses the HIPAA-specific accountability, evidence and retention requirements for environments handling and maintaining electronic protected health information (ePHI).

FTC Safeguards Pathway

Adds the governance, testing cadence, vendor safeguards, incident notification workflow, and Qualified Individual reporting required under the FTC Safeguards Rule.

Available to all partners, plus clients enrolled in CyberWatch.
