cybersecurity-awarenessEvery single day seems to contain another headline of a cybersecurity breach, cyberattack, or security issue threatening our client networks (and in turn their livelihoods). The problem with this is that many start tuning out these stories. And if there’s not a big headline underscoring the current issues with cyber hygiene or cybersecurity in a recognized brand or name, many treat cybersecurity as a non-issue.

As a community, we spend so much time hearing about cybersecurity issues, yet we seem unable to really hit the nail on the problem. One of the biggest is communicating why your clients should be investing in their security.

Why is it so hard to get users and decisionmakers to recognize the importance of securing their networks?

It’s pretty obvious. They don’t see a tangible benefit. There’s no ROI on security investments and without seeing and experiencing an attack, there’s no way they feel very threatened by headlines.

How to get them focused on cybersecurity?

Get them to experience it. If the decisionmakers (likely the C-Suite) actually experienced what they have at risk when they click on a link or if a team member allows something on the network, they are more likely to see the importance of your cyber stack. Get them to see how valuable their data is and understand why protecting that data should be a critical concern to their business.

I feel like this topic is so critical for MSPs today that I decided to focus this Super Sales Friday exclusively to helping you help your clients wrap their heads around their cybersecurity.

I will also help you come up with the right questions to ask them to get them to reflect on their need of security. If you are looking to grow your MRR in 2022, I’d strongly recommend you consider attending this event THIS Friday (December 10) at 12 PM ET.
