I’ve been talking about this for nearly six months already. vCSO services are the next big thing for MSPs. And NOW is the time to act. Now is the time to swim upstream for big opportunities and now is the time to further engage your high value clients in a security leadership offering. I want to be clear. There are a lot of folks who have CIO and CISO offerings. This is NOT what I’m talking about. The solution your clients and bigger prospects are looking for is NOT simply a technical account manager. And it certainly isn’t someone simply meeting with them on occasion to review a report.
What your clients are looking for is someone owning the role and taking a seat at the leadership table. Someone with enough experience and understanding about how their business and IT operations work, to be able to create impact on how their data and teams are protected.
This solution is not simply meet and greet. It’s strategic. It’s engaging. It’s not doing things ‘the way we’ve always done them’.
The vCSO solution I’m talking about will take work. It will require you to conform to a structured framework. And it will require you to learn a process (a process with BIG payoffs).
The vCSO solution I am talking about is a way to inform your clients on latest attacks and put it in a conversation they’re interested in having. It will frame cybersecurity to refocus their teams. It will not simply be a way for you to sell more tools but selling the right tools for their environment will certainly be a byproduct of a successful vCSO program.
The vCSO program is a way for you to enable IT directors, CIOs, or other technology leadership and introduce a concept—a partnership—that does not threaten. A solution-focused offer that most leaders will want because they recognize risks are only growing.
A solution that you are well-positioned for and can deliver 10 x’s if not 30 x’s better than the cybersecurity candidates in the job market today.
Now is the time for you to act. If you wait 6 months, this position will be filled. And you may end up reverting to be known as the “computer repair guys”.
