Every growing organization hits that moment: do we keep sprinting after every shiny thing, or do we stop, take a breath, and ask if we’re actually focused on the right battles?

We chose the second path. Why? Because our mission — protecting 1 million people — can’t be accomplished if the organizations we serve can’t prove they’re secure. You can have the best defenses in the galaxy, but after a breach, no one cares about your good intentions. They’ll ask one question: “Can you show me the evidence?”

That’s why this quarter is all about focus. We’re doubling down on Cyber Liability Defense and Third Party Reporting. It’s not glamorous. It’s not flashy. But it’s the backbone that keeps you standing when someone starts pulling at the threads of your security program.

A Healthcare Horror Story

We recently did a penetration test for a healthcare organization. Picture this: they thought their environment was locked down tight. Firewalls? Check. MFA? Check. Compliance paperwork? Oh, they had binders full of it.

But then we found something… lurking.

An old backup tool, still installed and humming along in the background like a forgotten appliance in the basement. The kind of thing that should’ve been retired years ago. Instead, it was quietly holding the door open. An attacker could (and in this case, already did) use it to get admin rights to the entire environment.

If we hadn’t done the analysis, they wouldn’t have known the back door was there. Worse — they wouldn’t have known it had already been used.

That’s the kind of story that keeps security leaders awake at night. It’s not the obvious holes that get you. It’s the ghosts in the server room.

Why This Matters

If you can’t produce evidence when the questions start flying after a breach, the narrative gets written for you — by lawyers, regulators, and insurers. And spoiler alert: it won’t end well.

That’s why our energy is locked on one thing this quarter: making reports sharper, making evidence airtight, and making it impossible to ignore the value of Cyber Liability Defense.

We’re not here to make things look pretty. We’re here to make things better.
